The legend of Polybius goes that In 1981 a strange video game showed up in a select few arcades in Portland Oregon. Kids who played the game seemed to experience amnesia, forget who they were, where they lived etc, and suffer from extreme night terrors.  The game was reportedly serviced by men wearing black coats who instead of collecting the quarters from the games, took only data from "records" inside the machine. Rumors were starting to grow that it was developed by some military...

I continue on my recurring "Aquatic Ambient" theme on Blood Reef, except this time I take it to darker territories. The album starts out on the surface calm and peaceful enough, but slowly drifts deeper and deeper into delirium, then finally into the horrors of the deep. But we discover that even in the darkest and scariest depths of the ocean, we can find beauty when we least expect it.  Fans of Steve Roach, Klaus Schulze, Brian Eno, and Robert Rich should all like this release.

The music was mainly composed using music tracker software such as Amiga Protracker, and Milkytracker. Live drums were added in real-time as the video was being recorded then mixed together to create an album that is part chiptune, and part cyberpunk.  The DVD features the original A/V presentations as well as a series of CGI shorts by Swiss artist Fornax Void. credits released August 16, 2016  Justin Wierbonski - drums, tracker programming, bass, guitar, and synth  David Elsener (Fornax...

Ambient experimental music recorded live at Terra Firma in Brooklyn, NY on 3/11/17. To create this music I used Jack Audio Connection Kit at the heart of the setup with Qsynth running a Kawai K1 soundfont which I played live with my MIDIPLUS midi controller. I used Seq24 for live midi sequences running -also to the K1 soundfont, as well as to a Casio CT-370 soundfont for percussive sounds. The Casio soundfont was piped into Jack-Rack into an AM pitch shifter, Decimator, and Stereo Delay...

It's a big internet, and there’s a lot of Vaporwave out there, but the sampling of incidental music has never been as weird as it is on 豪華漆 418. This album is equal parts strange as it is engrossing. In 1985 some corporate lackey gets dosed on his way to work and hears this on a repeated loop in his head as he sits at a board meeting watching his coworkers melt into the table.  豪華漆 418 was created entirely with Amiga ProTracker on a Mac Mini running MorphOS.  3u51c 4 3e14d0z...

Numazu was an experimental recording project headed by Derrick Hart & Kirill Nikolai in 2007. It includes a whole slew of talented musicians: Mariko Sugawara, Jay Demko, Justin Wierbonski, Kate Morris, Joey Halter & Haruki. This is a unique minimal and dark work that could be described somewhat as drone-ambient fused with avantgarde and improvisational music. It includes full CD artwork, front and back covers, folder, insert, track listing, cue and playlist files. It was originally...

This album was created in just about one week. It was made using Drums and a TX81z synthesizer and recorder. Use of the TX81z was an attempt to recreate free jazz horn feel in style and tone. Drumming is largely without meter. All recordings were improvised. released 26 June 2011  Justin Wierbonski - Drums, Synth, Recorder

Manasota is a 10 song instrumental post rock LP available on 180g vinyl and digital download. I played every instrument myself*, drums, bass, guitar, percussion and synths, recorded, mixed and mastered it, took the photo cover, and did the artwork and layout. It was a true labor of love, and took me nearly a year of dedication to complete. I feel it's sound is something to be proud of, but there's much more to it than that. Behind the music you hear on this LP, is the history of the past decade...

This album is a Duo of Dan Hosker and Jay Reeve. Jay had sent it to me after Dan passed away, and I really fell in love with it. Everything Dan took part in was always great, but I find something especially unique about the interplay between him and Jay on this album.  Nacht is an extremely moody and atmospheric recording of improv music of drums, guitar, cello, synths and unknown sounds. Imagine driving down the dark streets of South Florida at night passing strange people walking down the...
